Empty Bamboo Cosmetic Jars with Aluminum Inners
Wholesale Bamboo and Wood Caps, Lids and Closures
ECO-BAMBOO supplies bamboo, beech and walnut caps, lids and overcaps as standalone components or matched to a jar or bottle. A cap is not a cosmetic accessory: it decides whether the pack seals, how it feels when it is opened, and whether the product survives a flight. We quote caps by neck finish, liner and decoration rather than by diameter alone, because two caps of the same width can be entirely different parts.
Most enquiries fall into four groups: screw caps for glass cosmetic jars, lids for food storage containers, overcaps for perfume bottles, and decorative caps for water bottles, tumblers and candles. If you already have the container, send the neck drawing or a physical sample and we will match the cap to it. If you do not, we can propose a container and cap as one system.

Matching a Cap to Your Container
Three things have to agree: the thread or push-on type, the neck diameter and pitch, and the sealing surface. A cap that looks right but has the wrong thread pitch will cross-thread, back off in transit, or leak. Send the T dimension (thread diameter across the crests), the E dimension (neck height to the sealing surface) and the H dimension (bore), or simply post us a sample — we measure it before any tooling is quoted.
If the container is already in production, confirm the glass supplier's tolerance band as well. Glass necks move within a mould tolerance, and a bamboo cap that fits one batch tightly can feel loose on the next. Where that matters, the thread can be cut slightly deeper and the seal carried by the liner rather than by thread interference.
Bamboo, Beech or Walnut
Bamboo is the default for cosmetic packaging. It is hard, dimensionally stable and reads as sustainable without further explanation. Beech takes a finer, smoother thread and a more uniform finish, which suits small jars and precise closures. Walnut is darker and heavier-looking, and is normally chosen for premium fragrance and gift sets.
All three are natural materials. Grain direction, tone and small knots vary from piece to piece and from batch to batch; that variation is inherent, not a defect. Where a client needs a consistent colour across a run, the finish is stained and sealed against a master sample rather than relying on the raw timber matching.
Liners and Sealing
The liner does the sealing, not the bamboo. A PE or EVA disc is enough for creams, balms and dry goods. Stainless steel liners suit water bottles and food containers where the product contacts the cap directly. An induction seal gives tamper evidence for the first opening and is worth specifying for retail. For anything that ships by air, ask for a leak test with the actual product and the final torque setting.
Decoration
Laser engraving cuts into the grain and is the most durable option on bamboo; it will not wear off with handling. Hot stamping gives a metallic finish for logos on the top face. Silk screen suits fine text and multi-colour marks but sits on the surface, so it needs a sealed topcoat if the cap will be handled heavily.
MOQ, Sampling and Lead Time
Stock components start at 500 pieces per size and finish. Custom tooling, new thread profiles and multi-colour decoration are quoted case by case, because the minimum depends on the process rather than on the cap. Custom samples take 7 days. Production typically runs 10–35 working days after sample approval, with the exact window written into your quotation.
